A TOUCH of Oscars-style glamour came to Glasgow at the launch party for a new film.

Glen Oaks Housing Association rolled out the red carpet for the screening of a DVD version of its annual report.

It's the first time the association - which has homes in Arden and across the Greater Pollok area - has made a film charting the progress it has made in regenerating their area.

Alasdair McKee, chief executive of Glen Oaks, said: "We're hoping the concept of a film about Glen Oaks which replaces our usual printed annual report will go down well with our tenants.

"It tells them about our work in the last year, our contribution to the communities we serve and what our tenants say about us.

"All they have to do is pop it in a DVD player. We think it's an innovative way to get our message across."

It's hoped the DVD will prove a hit with tenants more used to getting a printed annual report.

The association hired a film production company to make the DVD.

The first screening took place at Arden Community Hall, with fake paparazzi' and red carpet to welcome people to the viewing.

The film also features Glen Oaks' highly successful Gold Service tenant scheme and its Good Neighbour Awards. Around 3500 copies have been issued to tenants.

It's not the first time the world of showbiz has hit Arden. Two years ago design duo Colin and Justin spent months working with the association for a Channel Five documentary series.
