SHERBORNE TOWN RES 3 BLANDFORD UNITED 1
BLANDFORD United lost their second successive match in the Dorset Premier League as they came undone at Sherborne Town Reserves.
Having started the clash positively, former Weymouth reserves’ man Paul Ford and Jack Jones had chances well saved by the home goalkeeper.
But the duo were not to be denied as they combined once more.
Jones crossed accurately for Ford to head home after some slick passing in the build-up by the Royals.
But the goal seemed to galvanise hosts Sherborne, and they managed to find an equaliser to make it 1-1 at the interval.
With Blandford hampered by Keiran Mulvey’s half-time withdrawal, the Zebras started the second half brightly.
And with their first attack, the home team took the lead as a cross to the back post managed to squirm its way into the net.
Buoyed by their advantage, Sherborne then took control as their next attack saw another cross turned home to add a third.
Despite Bradley Asagba’s troops attempting to rally late on, the damage had been done and United fell to their 17th league defeat of the season.
