WEYMOUTH Golf Club held their annual presentation night in a packed clubhouse with members from all sections of the club attending.
Club captain Steve King and lady captain Pat Ray presented the winning trophies on the night and among some of the exceptional players were Tom Robson and John Banks, who had some fantastic performances over the season in county events.
The duo finished first and second in both the county strokeplay and matchplay and Robson continued his winning streak throughout the year to also seal the Garrett Salver, Donald Holmes Trophy, the DCGU Order of Merit and the Basso Cup (scratch) making him Weymouth Golf Club’s champion for 2014.
Youngster Billy Hathway also excelled to become the second junior to win the player of the year award.
Hathway received two other major prizes in the form of the Bassett Cup (36 holes) and the Drake Trophy.
The ladies’ section continues to thrive and for the second year running Sally Davis became club champion.
