DANIEL Snow scored twice, including the winner, as Blandford secured a fourth victory in five Dorset Premier League outings.

Luke Crane set the hosts on their way with a 25th-minute penalty, and Snow made it 2-0 soon after following great work from Dorchester Town midfielder Sam Lanahan, who holds dual registration with the Royals.

To the Hammers’ credit, they stuck to their game plan and took advantage of a poor spell for the home side to draw level.

Jamie Kay reduced the arrears 33 minutes in before Samuel Carr equalised on the stroke of half-time.

The second half followed a similar pattern to how the first had ended, and the game continued to be somewhat scrappy.

However, Blandford, and Snow, grabbed the all-important winner in the 63rd minute with a contender for goal of the season.

Speaking after the game, Blandford boss Bradley Asagba said: “As we know, performances don’t move you up the table, points do.

“So I’m thankful that despite a poor performance we still did the job, which was get the points and get back on track from last week.

“Considering the amount of players we had out, part of me wants to ignore the performance and just be grateful for the points.

“Collectively it was just one of those games for us where we couldn’t impose ourselves as I would have wished, so we had to rely on a lot of effort, determination and organisation.

“Thankfully we are now at the point where we have certain individuals capable of producing match-winning quality, and that’s exactly what got us through this game.”

He added: “We are happy with the points, happy we are now occupying the club’s highest league position in recent times, but fully aware we are still quite some way from reaching our objectives.”
