A super slimmer who shed almost four stone is now hoping to inspire others after becoming a weight loss leader in Bridport.

Lucy Watkins, 30, joined her local Weight Watchers class back in 2010 and her class leader was so inspirational it spurred her on to lose some weight and try to become a leader herself.

Lucy has one daughter called Isabel Parsons and lives in Crewkerne.

As a weight loss leader she holds three meetings a week, including a class in Bridport on Tuesday mornings.

At the first weigh-in in January 2010, Lucy was shocked to find her weight had ballooned higher than she had imagined – she was tipping the scales at 11 stone 11lbs.

In April this year, Lucy reached her target weight of 8 stone 2 lbs, having succeeded in losing nearly four stone.

She told The News: “I have always been overweight ever since I was a child and it got to the point where I wanted to do something about it for myself, not just because others were telling me to.

“I tried calorie counting but that just didn’t work so I decided to try Weight Watchers.

“I sat in the meetings in Yeovil thinking that actually, I’d love to do something similar and inspire others like my leaders had inspired me.”

After the birth of her daughter Isabel one year ago, Lucy’s weight started to pile on once again but a healthier lifestyle and less snacking has helped Lucy keep off the pounds.

Lucy added: “Having lost nearly four stone I now feel amazing and like a completely different person.

“I don’t feel tired anymore and can be much more active with Isabel. I would love to tell others about the scheme that has helped me lose so much weight and help them to do the same.”

Lucy’s weight watchers class is currently held every Tuesday morning at St Mary’s Church hall in Bridport.

The class starts at 9.45am and runs until 10.45am with a talk for the last half an hour of the class.
