Christmas cards supporting good causes are on sale at West Dorset District Council-run tourist information centres in Bridport, Dorchester and Sherborne.
The cards are from registered national charity network Cards for Good Causes (CFGC) which sells cards for more than 25 charities including Age UK, Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation and Mencap as well as local charities such as Naomi House and Julia’s House. CFGC pays the participating charities – or their trading subsidiaries – at least 70 pence in every pound from their card sales, less the VAT payable on the amount retained by CFGC. The remaining amount covers CFGC’s running costs. Additionally, the charities pay for the production and distribution of their cards.
The TICs sell books, calendars and other Dorset-themed souvenirs that would make great Christmas presents.
