CHARMOUTH: The annual Christmas day swim will again be a highlight of the festive season, members heard at the latest meeting of the Lyme Regis and Charmouth RNLI Guild.
The swim, which attracts hundreds of spectators and dozens of fancy dress swimmers, has become a Christmas morning tradition. It has been held for more than 40 years.
Last year, a collection was made in aid of the RNLI and it was hoped the total raised from the event would top £1,700.
Guild chairman Irene Roper said: “We are hoping for the usual outrageous costumes and hundreds of people. There will be a collection for our RNLI charity.”
