REDLANDS Under-9s are celebrating after their main sponsor, McDonald’s restaurants in Weymouth, presented them with a whole array of training equipment including footballs, cones, poles, bibs, food vouchers and a lot more.

Team manager Bob Mowlem said: “The Weymouth McDon-ald’s management have been fantastic with their support for the boys this season.

“The costs of running a team with so few players and hiring training and match facilities are so expensive these days.

“There is very little money in the pot to buy equipment and sports kit so we can’t thank them enough for helping us this season.”

Recently, two of the boys in the team were mascots for fixtures in the Champions League.

Jonny Stuttle walked out at the Etihad Stadium for Manchester City versus Roma and Hedley Richardson was a mascot for Liverpool against Real Madrid.
