People on council housing lists are being reminded they have just weeks to reapply to remain on the list or they will be kicked off.

The move follows a decision by councils, which form the Dorset Choice Based Lettings Partnership, to review the policies which set out how social housing is allocated.

The councils include West Dorset District Council, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, Borough of Poole, North Dorset District Council and Purbeck District Council.

Registration ends at 5pm on November 11 and anyone who has not re-registered will no longer be on the list.

Applicants deemed to have the financial means to address their housing situation will be unable to remain on or join the register.

Applicants who are deemed adequately housed will no longer be able to remain on or join the register.

Residents who no longer qualify for a place on the register will still be able to access help and support.

Residents will need to complete the registration form online at dorsethomechoice.org
