Angel Carers completed the first part of their Fire and Ice fundraiser for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust and Cancer Research UK with an ice bucket challenge in Bucky Doo Square on Friday afternoon.

Perched in a row the four ‘volunteers’ shivered as much from nerves beforehand as the drenching after but all those involved were delighted to be involved with raising money for a good cause. The response from the Bridport public had been very positive, according to Clare Park and Fiona Rowe, directors at Angel Carers.

“We have had an excellent response so far this afternoon, and of course the Angel Carers will be donating something themselves. The first part is the ice bucket challenge in Bridport, and we will now follow it up on October 31 with a firewalk across hot coals outside the The Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester from 7pm,” said Fiona.
