BRIDPORT: Dorset Healthcare’s Greenfields Day Centre benefited from a £150 donation, thanks to two Bridport community groups.

The Inner Wheel of Bridport Club and Harbour House Care Home in West Bay raised £150 for the Greenfields team and Day Centre, which specialises in providing assessment, treatment and support for individuals diagnosed with dementia.

The donation will be used to increase the range of therapeutic activities available to clients.

Carole Head, Occupational Therapist and Team Leader at Greenfields, said: “Staff and clients were very grateful this week to the Inner Wheel of Bridport who kindly presented us with a cheque.

“Unknowingly, we were in for a double surprise as a representative from Harbour House in West Bay also popped in to give us a donation of money raised by its residents.”

She added: “Both donations are much appreciated and the money will be spent wisely to enhance the lives of those who use our Day Centre.

“Our team is committed to providing the very best care and we aim to offer activities which will enable clients to feel good about themselves.

“Our philosophy is that we strive to help people live their lives meaningfully despite illness or disability, we focus on their strengths and their personal interests.”
