Work is about to commence on the construction of the path which will lead people up from Coneygar Lane onto the top of Coneygar Hill.

The path will link into the existing paths on the hill and will enable walkers to go into Bridport town centre via Mountfield garden.

It will provide for the first time a pleasant through walk which avoids traffic and enables everyone to enjoy the Bridport Millennium Green, a countryside oasis which is hidden away, but is in the heart of the town.

The path has been made possible thanks to the gift of some additional woodland on the northern side of the hill by CG Fry and Son, who are also sponsoring new information boards.

Generous grants from the National Lottery Awards for All Scheme and the West Dorset District Council Bridport Area Community Projects Fund have been provided.

A kind donation is being given by the Friends of Bridport Millennium Green and the Bridport Town Council will support the scheme and maintain the path thereafter. Access to the site will be restricted during the construction period but the path will be opened for everyone later in the autumn. The path will necessarily be a little steep but you will be rewarded with a good view and a lovely walk.
