The appeal for fundraising to restore the bells at St Mary’s Church, Litton Cheney, was boosted by £250 this week.
A donation from Hussey & Briggs Ltd, Bridport, was handed over to tower captain Wendy Firrell and bells fund co-ordinator John Salvetti, as thanks to the residents of the village in recognition of their support over the last few years. The appeal is over halfway to the goal of £20,000, and Mr Salvetti has more fundraising events planned soon.
“We really appreciate the continued business from Litton Cheney,” said Steve Legg from Hussey & Briggs, adding: “It just seemed a good thing to do for the village, a thank you to the community.”
