Here’s ten things to do in Dorset this weekend, from the Red Arrows, to the Great Dorset Steam Fair, there’s plenty to entertain the whole family.

1. Brave the mud at the Great Dorset Steam Fair

The Great Dorset Steam Fair starts runs until Sunday at Tarrant Hinton near Blandford. As part of this year's event there will be a special WWI display alongside other exhibits which include the Horse Remount Depot, The Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment Living History Group, steam engines, tractors, field guns, a tank, heavy artillery and other historic vehicles. More than 500 trade stands will also feature, providing a variety of goods to purchase. There will also be five entertainment pavilions, each with its own programme of live music and range of national and local beers and ales. 2. Build a dinosaur

Wareham Town Museum is hosting two dinosaur building workshops on Saturday where kids and adults alike will have the chance to get all Jurassic with LEGO. There are two workshops taking place with one running from 10am to 11.30am and another between 2pm and 3.30pm. Every child will get to take home a free LEGO kit, workshop price is £10. 3. Splat a rat at a Grande Fete

There will be entertainment for all of the family at the Grande Fete at St Mary's Church in Swanage on Saturday with games, stalls and much more to keep all the family entertained and takes place from 12pm to 4pm.

4. Bag a bargain at a collectors' fair

Purbeck Antiques Collectors' Fair is being hosted at Furzebrook Hall from 10am in Wareham on Sunday and as well as the collectables will feature caterers offering a selection of fresh produce, cakes and fudge. There's also free parking and disabled access.

5. Browse a country market

A free open air market in Laundry Courtyard, Kingston Lacey, is taking place on Saturday between 10.30am and 1.30pm. The market will feature local and West Country produce for sale.

6. See the Red Arrows at Bournemouth Air Show.

The Red Arrows will be doing their incredible displays every day of the Festival, which runs until Sunday.

Other highlights include the Black Cats helicopter display team and a Canadian Lancaster, which will fly with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on Saturday and Sunday as part of a summer tour, having arrived from Canada earlier this month.

7. Take an alternative trip back in time at the RAF Warmwell Memorial Weekend in Crossways A series of events is being held to commemorate the former Second World War airbase on which part of the village is built.

The RAF Warmwell Memorial Weekend will be held until Sunday.

The commemoration will begin today with the Purbeck Big Band performing in Crossways Village Hall from 8pm.

Tickets cost £5 in advance and are available from Trees Stores, Crossways Library, and Dorch-ester Tourist Information Centre.

It costs £6 on the door.

On Saturday, a rededication service will be held at the war memorial, starting at 10.45am, and there will be a free exhibition open to the public from 12pm at Crossways Village Hall.

A 1940s-style cinema evening will be held on Saturday from 7.30pm, in the village hall, formerly the RAF Warmwell Dance and Picture House during the war.

A nostalgia-filled fair will be held on Sunday on Crossways Sports Field at Dick O’ th’ Banks Road. See the Facebook page RAF Warmwell 2014 for more information.

8. Hear folk musicians cast an entrancing spell in the Walled Garden, Moreton, near Crossways, on Saturday.

Dorset folk musicians including Kadia, Wikkman, Tinderbox and Mitchell and Vincent will perform.

Tickets cost £10 in advance and are available from A1 Taxis in Trinity Street, Dorchester, or on the door for £12.

9. Dig out your flares, find your platforms, pull on a wig and head to the Dorchester Show ground on Saturday to raise money for local bowel cancer charity Ducks & Drakes.

The 70s evening will include a three-course supper in the ticket price. Tickets cost £25 and can be bought from dorsetcountyshow. co.uk or from the Show Box Office in South Street, Dorchester.

10. Give one of Dorset’s best kept secret beaches a spring clean on Sunday.

The Castle Cove Beach clean, picnic and sandcastle competition takes place from 1pm.

There are prizes for the Sandcastle Competition and |people should bring their own picnic.

The path from Old Castle Road to the Weymouth beach is currently closed to the public so people should access the beach from further along the beach.

Don’t forget your picnic, bucket, spade, gloves, and litter pickers if you have them.

11. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the park listening to the Amy Mayes Band.

They will be performing in Dorchester’s Borough Gardens from 2.30pm to 3.30pm on Sunday.

12. Marvel at a Morris Men dance-off at the Lyme Regis Folk Festival, which runs from today until Sunday.

Performances will take place in the Marine Theatre, the Pilot Boat, the Seafront Stage and the Town Mill.
