West Dorset residents were left baffled after discovering a glider in a field.
The glider was left in the field at St Gabriel’s Valley in Morcombelake for almost five hours on Saturday, and residents were left wondering what had happened to the pilot. Adrian Whitehead, who lives nearby, took pictures of the aircraft.
He said: “I saw it when I got home and went to have a look as it seemed quite strange.
“Later I saw the pilot making his way back and he told me that he had lost lift over the Golden Cap and had to make a forced landing at Shedbush Farm.
“He called his friend who lives north of Bristol, and he came down with a trailer.
“They dismantled the glider and took it back.”
