SIX people were treated by paramedics after a two car smash on the A35 in Winterbourne Abbas earlier today.
Motorists faced long tailbacks following the crash which happened just before midday, and the six people were treated on the roadside.
Dorset Police was also called to the incident, which happened between Chalk Pit Lane junction and the B3159, and involved a red Ford KA, registered to a man from Rochester, and a red Skoda Yeti, registered to a woman from Bridport.
The accident was on the Eastbound carriageway but was causing slow traffic in both directions.
The injuries suffered by the six people were not thought to be serious and they were not taken to hospital.
The road was finally cleared and reopened shortly before 2pm, after the local authority was also required to attend after the accident due to an oil spill on the road.
