A DRIVER had a lucky escape following a car crash in Haye Lane in Lyme Regis.

The 18-year-old suffered soreness and a chipped tooth but no serious injuries.

PC Richard Winward, of Lyme Regis Police, said: “A nearby resident heard a thud and voices at about 2am on Saturday morning.

“The driver was taken to hospital when she called her father to tell him about the crash.

“The vehicle, a yellow Citroen Saxo, was recovered from the scene and will be scrapped.”

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
