A SEVENTY-seven-year-old woman has been airlifted to hospital after she broke her hip on a West Dorset beach.
The incident happened on a beach to the west of Golden Cap, between Charmouth and Bridport, shortly before 2pm this afternoon.
The Lyme Regis RNI Lifeboat were called to the incident, with two crew members swimming ashore to help stabilise the woman.
They then assisted the woman as she was winched up onto the aircraft, before she was taken to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester for treatment
