A BRIDPORT butchers will be featured in a television series.
RJ Balson and Son, Britain’s oldest butchers, were visited by presenter Janet Street-Porter and chef Brian Turner on Friday.
The pair, who are filming for BBC’s A Taste of Britain, tasted Balson’s award-winning pork sausages and home-made faggots.
The butchers, on West Allington, were featured in a BBC documentary earlier in the year and are preparing celebrations to mark their 500th anniversary.
Richard Balson said: “Both enjoyed their samples and Janet thought Faggots were just like Haggis but how wrong she was, they are much better.
“Since the BBC documentary in January we have been over whelmed with the fantastic response, and people from all around the country have been coming to Bridport and Balson's to see our amazing town and taste our excellent local produce.”
