Seaside inn reopens after £1m refurbishment

THE Anchor Inn at Seatown in West Dorset has reopened after a major refurbishment costing more than £1M.
The historic inn has long been famous for its idyllic seaside location. Owners Palmers Brewery have spent seven months carrying out extensive work to upgrade the facilities, creating a stunning terrace overlooking the beach and three boutique-style guest rooms with sweeping sea views.
John Palmer, Chairman of Palmers Brewery, said: “The Anchor Inn is one of our flagship properties and we have invested a substantial sum to revitalise the building and provide the quality experience that our customers deserve.”
The pub closed for renovation in October 2013 and contractors battled against record-breaking winter gales to get the work completed for the spring.
Landlord Paul Wiscombe, who has run the pub for the last 10 years, said: “The Anchor is looking really good and it is great to be open again. It is fantastic that Palmers have invested so much in the pub.”
