A man was airlifted to hospital after severing part of his finger in a sailing accident.
Portland Coastguard helicopter was sent to airlift the man from his yacht Sheqel, 15 miles south of Lyme Regis, to hospital.
However, the seas on Saturday afternoon were so rough and weather conditions too dangerous for the helicopter to take the man straight off the yacht.
So Torbay lifeboat picked up the casualty and he was then safely transferred to the helicopter.
