A MOTOCROSS display team which regularly appears at a West Dorset show is heading for the big time after an audition on a prime time television show.

Bold Dogs Ling wowed and terrified judges in equal measure on Britain's Got Talent and stormed through to the next round of the show.

They headed outside to show judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams and the audience their death-defying tricks including flips and somersaults in mid-air.

The team are regulars at the Melplash Show and will once again be headlining the entertainment in the main ring at this year's event on August 21.

Cowell, who recently became a father for the first time, is seen to get to his feet and puts a hand over his mouth in amazement while watching the audition.

The entertainment mogul is more usually seen to be unimpressed by acts.

Amanda Holden said the display was 'amazing' and show hosts Ant and Dec said they felt ‘nervous’ watching it.

The crowd loved the act, cheering as the team did handstands on their bikes while flying through the air and showed off their acrobatic skills.

Winners of the show, which screens on ITV, will perform in front of the Queen but Bold Dogs have to compete in further rounds against the best amateur entertainment has to offer before reaching that stage.

The team has a reputation for its death defying tricks – their riders include Dan Whitby, the UK's first rider to backflip a four stroke motocross bike.

The Melplash Show takes place annually in August and celebrates the best of agricultural life, with trade stands, entertainment and food.
