SNAPPY scouts have received some expert advice from a professional photographer.

Members of the 1st Charmouth Scout group were completing their badge in photography and were visited by local photographer Anna Kindred, pictured right with the younsters.

After receiving a helping hand from Ms Kindred, the scourts scoured the village and places further afield to try and get the most interesting shots for their portfolio.

Assistant scout leader Carol Moorey organised the training and display.

She said: “We are very grateful to Anna for coming along and passing on her experience. Having seen the quality of some of the prints on display, it is evident that her tips proved useful and that we have some really talented photographers in our troop.”

As part of the challenge the scouts unveiled their portfolios to the scouts district and deputy district commissioners and were then awarded the badge.

The district commissioner also presented Harry Aldworth with his Chief Scouts Gold Award – the highest accoloade available to scouts.

It is thought Harry is the first ever Charmouth scout to win this award.
