The Bridport Sport Relief Mile is coming to town again on Sunday, March 23 when the Sport Relief Mile will set off from St Mary’s Primary School.

With a choice of routes of one, three or six miles, runners can enter on the day or via the website sportrelief.com In March, 2012 the event was held for the first time in Bridport and attracted more than 100 runners of all ages and raised more than £1,000.

‘The Bridport Mile’, as it is also called, is jointly organised by St Mary’s School and Bridport Runners. The start will be at 11.30am.

The Sport Relief Mile is part of a nationwide series of more than 1,000 sporting events which will take place between March 21 and 23 across the UK.

Its aim is raising money ‘to help people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world’, according to the initiator, the UK charity Comic Relief.
