THE Bridport News website has seen record-breaking figures during January.

More than 34,000 people logged on to bridportnews.co.uk to catch up on the latest breaking news, to find out what’s happening in the area and to see our picture galleries.

The website received its highest ever number of page views, a total of 152,504 views, throughout the month, which is a 65.9 per cent increase on last year’s figures for the same month, and a 14 per cent increase on page views from December.

The highest ever number of unique browsers went online, with 34,052 – a year on year increase of 75.6 per cent.

People turned to the website to get the most up to date information on weather and travel in west Dorset during the terrible winter storms.

The most read story was about west Dorset flood warnings, with 3,868 views and the picture gallery of New Year celebrations had 5,950 views.

Other top stories included the renewed safety warnings after a massive rock fall at Burton Bradstock and the finding of a rare fossil on Charmouth beach.

Finally, the Bridport News site recorded its highest ever number of page impressions with 152,504, a year on year increase of 65.9 per cent.

Most read was the west Dorset flood warnings with 3,868 views and the New Year pictures gallery had 5,950 views.
