AN INQUEST is to be held next month into the deaths of two people who were killed in a landslide at a Beaminster tunnel.

Rosemary Snell, 62, from Misterton, Somerset, and Michael Rolfe, 72, from Fivehead, Somerset, died when the car they were travelling in was engulfed by a mudslide at the Horn Hill tunnel on July 7, 2012.

The local community was left shell-shocked after the couple’s bodies were found 10 days later.

The main A3066 road from Beaminster was closed at the tunnel for over a year after the incident for stabilisation work to be carried out.

The inquest is at County Hall, Dorchester, on February 25 and 26, starting at 10am.
