The Society met on December 10 to hear a talk by John Smith about the Romans.
Mr Smith is not only an archaeologist but also a re-enactor and he brought a selection of armour and weapons to enliven his talk.
The next meeting is on January 14, at 2.30pm, in the hall of the United Church in East Street when Dr Dianna Trenchard will talk about how flax and hemp are turned into a variety of products.
