Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner Martyn Underhill is inviting victims of crime in West Dorset, Weymouth and Portland to a special forum, so he can learn from their experiences and ensure that their needs are being met.

The West Dorset and Weymouth and Portland Victim Focus Group will take place on Thursday, January 23, at the Magistrates Room, Corn Exchange, High West Street, Dorchester, from 10am to midday. It will be followed by a victims’ private surgery.

At the forum, residents will be asked for their views on their experience. Their advice will be used to help define victim services in Dorset. There will be a maximum number of 15 victims at the session and a trained victim support officer will attend.

Mr Underhill said: “It is important I meet with victims so I can hear about their journey and find out how to meet their needs. We need to learn from people’s experiences and raise awareness of the kinds of help available.”
