IT’S good weather for ducks – but not for the Lyme Regis duck race, which has been called off.
The Lyme Lunge is still going ahead despite the weather and the plucky paddlers will run into the sea at 1pm, as planned.
The bad weather has put paid to the popular duck race event which was set to kick off the town’s New Year traditions with the ducks taking to the water at midday.
They were due to set off at the point of the river by the Higher Mill Flats on Windsor Terrace, with 600 plastic ducks predicted to take part.
Organisers were concerned that if the water level in the river was too high they might have to cancel the event.
