THE Christmas Tree in Lyme Regis has been blown over after high winds hit the town.
The tree, which was installed two weeks ago, was blown over around midday on Wednesday morning in high winds.
It is believed the tree snapped at the bottom, and Dorset Fire and Rescue service were forced to close Broad Street as firefighters attempted to remove the tree.
A JCB digger also attended the scene and workers were forced to cut parts of the tree off as they tried to remove the 40 foot tree.
