A STUNNING new reception area celebrating Dorset’s Jurassic links has been created in a children’s hospice.

Di Lusso Interiors has redesigned the reception area at Julia’s House hospice with an innovative ceiling light resembling the sea.

It stretches six metres along the corridor and features individually designed and flamboyant 3D fish, turtles and ammonites, giving the illusion of a shimmering moving sea of light.

An underwater tropical themed mosaic mural has been placed in the main reception area of the hospice to complement the new bespoke light. Keeley Fox, director of Bournemouth firm Di Lusso, said: “The Di Lusso team has worked tirelessly over the last few months to bring Julia’s House dream and Di Lusso’s design concept into reality.

“The team has achieved great things with this new project and we are very proud.

“Julia’s House hospice is a special place and so are the people in it and we wanted to create something as special as they are.”

The project was paid for by the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity which invited children’s hospices around the UK to apply for funding for refurbishment projects.

Martin Edwards, of Julia’s House, said: “We were thrilled to have been chosen by Thomas Cook Children’s Charity.

“The end result is wonderful and being enjoyed by families and staff alike.”
