Downton Abbey creator helps to open new showroom
BRIDPORT businessmen Paul and Patrick Ackerman have launched their new Bathroom Inspirations showroom – in front of a bumper crowd.
The twin brothers unveiled their latest showroom at the Grove Trading Estate in Dorchester with the help of Downton Abbey creator Lord Julian Fellowes of West Stafford, and his wife Lady Emma Fellowes, who attended the ceremony after being impressed by the company’s work.
Crowds packed into the showroom to meet the celebrity couple and to have a look at the latest units and equipment on display.
The twins have both worked in the industry for 30 years and established their shop in Dorchester in 2004.
Paul said he was thrilled with how the opening event had gone and thanked Lord and Lady Fellowes for making the effort to attend.
Paul said: “We are delighted with the turnout. There has been an awful lot of hard work before today but it seems like it has all paid off.
“We have been heavily involved with Lord and Lady Fellowes’s project from start to finish, they have been great and it has been fabulous for us.
“They have been very kind to come along and open the showroom.”
There was also a charity element to the day with a prize draw in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.
Lady Fellowes, who officially opened the showroom by popping a giant bubble, praised the standard of work done at their home by the dedicated team from Bathroom Inspirations.
She said: “We are most thrilled we have been able to get all the stuff we need from Dorchester and do everything locally.”
Lord Fellowes said he was glad to be able to repay the company for the excellent work they did at their West Stafford home and hoped to see the business prosper.
He said: “They were marvellous for us and so it’s really nice to see a business prospering and expanding, particularly in times like this.”
Lord Fellowes added that he was also pleased to support Weldmar on the day. Lord Fellowes added: “Weldmar is always part of our lives, I think it’s a wonderful organisation and it makes a tremendous contribution to the community.”
