Bid to cut farming machinery deaths

FARM workers in West Dorset are being urged to stay safe in a campaign to cut the number of deaths caused by agricultural machinery.
Accidents involving farm vehicles and agricultural machinery have caused more than 100 fatal injuries to farm workers in the United Kingdom in the last ten years, according to figures from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The Farm Safety Partnership has launched the Safe Stop campaign to tackle the issue.
Around 40 per cent of the deaths were caused when operators left the cab of a vehicle without correctly applying the handbrake. Incidents involving tractors are also common
