11:08am Thursday 24th October 2013 in News
Star Wars fans will be able to feel the force at Duke’s auctioneers in Dorchester.
With Han Solo, Jabba the Hutt, Princess Leia, various Ewoks and numerous assorted beasties making an appearance, the auction room is alive with Star Wars figures and decoration.
It includes some of the highly prized toys that were manufactured in the 1970s by firms such as Kenner and Palitoy.
The collection was assembled over many years by a Star Wars enthusiast who collected items relating to all six of the movies with an emphasis on the three original films.
With many character figures, some in original packaging, books, models, an excellent replica of a lightsabre, life-size figures of Yoda and a Jawa the collection is certain to generate interest from many collectors from across the globe. Duke’s Auctioneer Matthew Denney said: “This extensive collection will be split into fifty lots with prices ranging from £40 – £60 up to around £500 – £1,000 per lot.
“There is something for every Star Wars enthusiast in the sale and we expect demand to be high.
“Some of the early items such as the Kenner manufactured model of the land speeder are now rare, especially in original packaging.”
The auction is on October 29 with viewing from Saturday, October 26.
