Beaminster Chiropractic Clinic has been awarded two National Quality Awards in recognition of its patient care and clinical management.
The Royal College of Chiropractors awards two Quality Assurance marks, both of which run for three years before renewal is required.
The Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM), which is awarded for excellence in meeting patients’ expectations, has been held by the clinic since its opening in 2009 and was renewed this year.
At the Royal College’s annual meeting, chiropractors Martin Young and Dan Sparks joined only a handful of top clinics nationally in also receiving the Clinical Management Quality Mark (CMQM) for excellence in clinical governance from the director of academic affairs, Stuart Smellie. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the highest standards in activities such as clinical audit, risk management, incident reporting, outcome measurement, patient satisfaction, emergency procedures and operational policy.
The clinic is also actively involved in research and has been recognised by the college as a centre of research excellence with over fifty articles published in peer reviewed scientific journals on subjects as diverse as heartburn, dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD, clinical auditing and professional development. Dr Martin Young said that he was delighted with the awards.
He said: “Our clinic provides a patient-centred service, and we are proud to say that these recognise our ongoing commitment to meeting patients’ expectations in striving for clinical excellence.”
