Swimmer rescued by RNLI Lyme Regis off Charmouth beach
The lifeboat was launched at 9.28am and found the man floating on his back. He was taken aboard the lifeboat, suffering from the effects of cold.
The lifeboat crew returned to Lyme Regis harbour and the man was later transferred from the lifeboat station to a waiting ambulance.
After putting the man ashore, the lifeboat carried out a shoreline search in case anyone else was in difficulty, but nothing was found.
This was the 23rd emergency call answered this year by the volunteers of Lyme Regis RNLI.
