AN open air youth music festival by the sea will showcase some of the best young music acts in the South West.

B Sharp is hosting Big Mix on Saturday, July 6 at Theatre Square, Lyme Regis, where there will be live music, workshops, a barbecue and a bar.

B Sharp director Fran Williams said: “It's going to be cracking day out, not just for young people - although they should be sure to come along.

“This is a music festival right on your doorstep, set in the most stunning location, we have live music all day long until dark.

“The Marine Theatre is providing a bar for over 18s and there is a barbecue with award-winning chef Ian Simpson from the White House Hotel in Charmouth.

“There are boat trips before noon and hammocks and deckchairs laid on as an extra attraction and for those who want to lounge.

“There will be something for everyone, just come along and see for yourself. Take a day off to join in some community fun and support young people.”

Age-related music workshops will be held from midday to 2pm, and live music is on the main stage from 2pm to 11pm, headlined by Bridport band The RPMs.

Music acts from across the region will feature, and B Sharp will perform some of the songs they have composed at their regular Tuesday evening sessions at the Hub.
