A HARBOURSIDE congregation of around 200 people assembled for the annual Blessing of the Boats service in Lyme Regis.
The outdoor inter-denominational service at the RNLI lifeboat station on Rogation Sunday was led by parish vicar, the Rev Jane Skinner, accompanied by other local clergy.
Wreaths representing the RNLI, fishermen, the Royal and Merchant Navies and the Royal British Legion were blessed and laid at the water’s edge.
They were then taken out to sea by the lifeboat crew to commemorate those lost at sea.
The Mayor Coun Sally Holman read the lesson and was accompanied at the service by town councillors.
Lyme Regis Town Band provided music for the hymns.
