West Dorset MP Oliver Letwin will officially open Beaminster’s revamped Yarn Barton Centre on Friday.
The centre has 20 volunteers running it as a company under guarantee in its newly refurbished premises in Fleet Street.
The centre received an £11,000 grant from West Dorset District Council and spent the money making its meeting room more comfortable, renewing the windows, redecorating and buying a photocopier and projector to go with the computers and laptops.
The town’s Job Club meets in the building, it collects food donations for the children’s centre and hopes shortly to house the First Dorset Credit Union if seven more volunteers come forward.
Volunteers want the facilities to help micro-businesses and they people to hire out the meeting room.
After Mr Letwin officiates at the opening ceremony there will be a coffee morning from 10am to noon and it is hoped volunteers will come forward to help with the credit union.
