Time for action on primary school places in Dorset

DORSET County Council has warned families that time is running out to apply for a primary school place next year.
Parents whose children are starting school in September 2013 have until the middle of January to apply for a place. This applies to children born between September 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009 seeking a reception place and also to children due to move to a junior or middle school. The deadline is January 15, 2013.
If you are a Dorset resident, school admissions are handled by Dorset County Council. The quickest and easiest way to apply is online at dorsetforyou.com/schooladmissions. Alternatively download the form using the same web address, or telephone 01305 221060 for a paper copy and parents’ guide to be sent to you.
Cabinet member for children’s services at Dorset County Council Toni Coombs said: We have tried to make the process as easy as possible and our parents’ guide has all the information.”
