BEAMINSTER Tennis Club held their annual tournament on Sunday.
In a fiercely contested event Ali Boyer, at just 14-years-old the youngest competitor in the tournament narrowly edged out his brother Will into second place by taking the prestigious title.
In the ladies' section, Billie Lintell came through a tough schedule to be pronounced the winner, but as with the men she was only just ahead of her nearest rival, Glenys Watts.
The tennis was then followed by an equally high quality barbecue, enjoyed by all and a fine way to end a successful day.
Beaminster Tennis Club is small and friendly with a wide age range of members from under-10s to several active players still playing in their seventies.
There are men, ladies and mixed league teams but many people are happy just playing socially at the club sessions at Beaminster School on Monday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.
New players are always encouraged and welcomed to attend.
