Bridport Rural East Safer Neighbourhood Team neighbourhood policing team
- PC Timothy Poole
- I work as a Police Constable for my local Safer Neighbourhood Team. My role is varied and typical duties relate to keeping the peace, law enforcement, protection of persons and property, and the investigation of crimes. As an officer I am expected to respond to a variety of situations that may arise while they are on duty.
About this neighbourhood
The Bridport Section covers the rural towns of Bridport, Lyme Regis and Beaminster, and is not only one of the most visually attractive parts of Dorset, it is also one of the safest in terms of crime and violence against the person. However, this means any crime trends that emerge tend to have a dramatic impact as everyone in that locality gets to hear about it. We also have significant policing issues at the height of the season, which now seems to stretch from Easter to mid-October! During the season we assist in policing many locally arranged events. These include Bridport and Lyme Regis Carnival, and the Melplash Agricultural Show. By working with our partners and the community and building on the wealth of knowledge we have, the officers working within the stations are able to target our main problems and maintain a very high success rate. This success rate is further enhanced by the hard work performed by our Special Constabulary and Police Community Support Officers
The force responsible for policing and crime prevention in this area is Dorset Police.
