Enjoy fun of Yetminster Fair
8:00am Saturday 7th July 2012 in Stage
READY TO RUMBLE: State of Undress
ROCKY, rootsy, fiddlesome band State of Undress will be one of the acts taking to the stage in St Andrew’s Hall on July 14 to bring the lively and colourful Yetminster Fair to a joyous and rousing grand finale.
Yetminster Fair is one of the oldest fairs in Dorset, able to trace its origins back to the 13th century.
As bustling as its predecessors, the fair will start at 1.15pm with a procession lead by the Highlander Pipes and Drums. A myriad stalls featuring local arts and crafts along with cream teas and hog roast, a fun dog show, children’s rides, and dancing on the green will ensure the merriment continues throughout the afternoon at this free, family-friendly event.
Continuing on from the fun of the day and very fitting for an event steeped in Dorset heritage, the evening concert at St Andrew’s will bring some of the finest performers in Dorset to the same stage.
The concert will start at 7.30pm with a welcome from Bonny Sartin of the Yetties.
Entry to the fair during the day is free.
Tickets for the evening concert are priced at £10 and are available in advance from Garth Hentley by phone on 01935 873239; by text on 07972 498059; by email yetminsterfair@aol.com or in person from Oak House Stores, Yetminster.
