A BAFTA award-winning actor will headline the next Lyme Regis Comedy Club.

Dave Johns famously played the lead in I Daniel Blake, Ken Loach's critically acclaimed and multi award winning film, which won the much coveted Palme D'or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.

As well as an actor, he’s a celebrated comic who has made guest appearances on many television programmes, including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, 8 Out of Ten Cats and The Football’s On.

Dave is one of the most respected and best loved stand up comics working on the British comedy circuit, and is an accomplished stage actor and improviser.

Dave is joined by Dan Thomas and Karen Bayley, and resident compere Tom Glover.

Dan performs at venues such as The Glee Club, The Comedy Store, and Komedia. He has also appeared at several festivals including Green Man. Dan supported Russell Kane on his national tour of the Perrier Award winning show Smokescreens and Castles and will also tour with Russell on his upcoming Manscaping tour.

Karen Bayley made a name for herself by reaching the semi-final of the prestigious BBC New Comedy Awards and was later crowned the winner of the 2001 Komedia New Act prize. She was the first female winner of the Comedy Store King Gong award and reached the finals of both the BBC New Comedy Awards Showcase and Babycham Funny Women.
