COMEDIAN Mark Thomas will uses his own demise to explore the state of the NHS with his new work in progress show in Dorchester.

Mark Thomas: Check Up: Our NHS @70 comes to Dorchester Corn Exchange on Thursday, July 12 at 7.30pm.

Mark is 54, the NHS is 70, UK national average life expectancy is 84.

If Mark makes it to 84 the NHS will be 100, what will they both look like? Based on a series of interviews with leading experts in and on the NHS and residencies in hospitals and surgeries and with director Nicolas Kent, Thomas explores what's going wrong in our NHS, how it can go right and what the future might hold for all of us.

One of the few stand-ups still to carry the political standard of alternative comedy, Mark is essentially an observational comic – only his observations tend to revolve around the crusading anti-corporate, anti-greed investigations he undertakes.
