A PLAY set in a university history department at a time when the United Kingdom exits from the European Union can be seen at Bridport Arts Centre on Sunday, July 8.
Prepare to Leave centres on a No Deal decision by the UK government to crash out of the EU.
The play explores the dramatic impact of rapidly developing events before and after Brexit Day on the personal and professional lives of UK and EU nationals, namely members of a university history department and their partners.
The vice-chancellor insists the university be an unapologetic instrument of the state and the new head of history needs little persuasion to dismiss virtually all colleagues who are EU nationals
Prepare To Leave is the third play written by Andrew Rutherford as a fund-raiser for the Bridport Arts Centre (BlindSpot [2014] and Counting The Birches [2015] were both sell-outs).
Under the direction of Emma Batchelor a talented group of local actors will bring this powerful and chilling drama to the Bridport stage.
