A RISING music artist has celebrated the release of her new set of music.

Lyme Regis singer Joanna Cooke has released her third EP Some Say.

The new collection of music follows Joanna's well-received previous EPs, 2015's Remember Me and 2016's Wound Up.

Joanna said: "I can't wait to share this new EP. All the songs come from circumstances I've encountered, so there's a lot of me and my emotions in there.

"I'm pretty sure they're not unique to me though and I want to open up some common ground which people will relate to and connect with as we all strive to be the best version of ourselves.

"I'm blessed with soul, blues and jazz influences and also involved in dance music internationally too.

"There are touches of all those in these tracks and I'm so proud to present this fresh set of songs in Some Say."

Production of the album came again from Matthew Arundell, with Joanna's long-standing musical partner Nathan Austin assisting with the song-writing and performing.

The former Woodroffe School student has had a busy year, participating in 131 live shows last year, including 15 music festivals.

Her music career so far has seen her support popular artist Rag'n'Bone Man on his tour, and The James Taylor Quartet.

Joanna was also the BBC Introducing Artist of the Week on a show which aired last November on all 40 BBC local radio stations nationally.

The artist also has more than 100 live shows, including festivals, already in the diary for 2018, including both solo sets and support sets for Beth Rowley and Jo Harman.

Joanna will be performing across Devon and Cornwall, including the River Cottage Festival in Axminster on Saturday, August 25.

Some Say is available on digital download (iTunes, Amazon), CD and streaming formats.
