TAKE a picnic and enjoy outdoor theatre in Bridport on Tuesday, July 31at 6pm.

The Princess And The Giant will be staged at The Hyde Residential Home in Walditch, Bridport, by Folksy Theatre.

The production is adapted from the book by Caryl Hart.

Princess Sophie is fed up. She's exhausted and it's all because the grumpy old giant can't sleep - his stomps and stamps keep everyone awake all night.

But Princess Sophie is a resourceful sort of girl and, as she reads her favourite book of fairy tales, she wonders if she might just have the answer. Filled with music, puppetry and wonderful characters, this family show is one not to be missed!

Based on the children's book by Caryl Hart, illustrated by Sarah Warburton.

Director Lee Hardwicke said: “This is a wonderfully fun and silly, yet moving story, filled with sing along songs and puppetry. People are encouraged to bring along their picnics to the outdoor venues. It’s a great day out for all the family.”
