*SINGING legends The Drifters take to the stage of Weymouth Pavilion tonight (11) at 7.30pm.

*A SUNDAY afternoon’s treat is in store at Dorchester Corn Exchange - a free concert.

Dorchester’s Community Orchestra, Dorchestra and Weymouth-based vocalists led by Juliet Harwood, the Quangle Wangle Singers are joining forces this summer for a special concert from 3.30pm.

Pieces featuring choir and orchestra will include Fantasia on British Sea Songs by Henry Wood, Lewis Bridal Song, and YMCA as well as solo items by Dorchestra and the Quangle Wangle Singers. Tea and cake will be served after. Donations will be welcomed.

*GET Royal Wedding fever a week early this weekend with a Here Comes the Bride exhibition at St Peter’s Church in Dorchester.

Ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day on May 19, see the church's display of wedding dresses and memorabilia from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, May 12 and from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday, May 13.

There will also be an exhibition of the social history of marriage in order to raise money for the church and to celebrate the occasion.

Visitors can enjoy seeing wedding dresses and memorabilia spanning nine decades and enjoy cream teas and other refreshments.

*HEAD out west for a fine mix of folk music in Lyme Regis to raise money for the town’s ever-popular summer folk festival.

Lyme Folk Revisited is a one off show being held tonight (11) at 7.30pm at the Marine Theatre in Lyme, with Rangari headlining and featuring Toby Noble and Steve Dagleish. Call 01297 442138 for tickets or get them from Bridport or Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centres.

*IF you have an interest in church organ music, you may be interested to know about the South Wessex Organ Society Festival, taking place from across west Dorset and east Devon, beginning today and ending on Sunday. The highlight is the West Dorset Organ Safari which will take in some of the most interesting instruments in west Dorset, including the Skrabl organs in Beaminster and Lyme Regis.Tomorrow night will see a gala concert at Lyme Regis Parish Church featuring the Lyme Bay Chorale and New Elizabethan Singers. *WHAT could be a better combination than steam trains and beer? Swanage Railway is holding a Diesel and Beer Gala beginning today (11) and continuing until Sunday (13). The home fleet will be joined by a host of visitors. There will be an intensive and varied timetable of passenger trains giving visitors the opportunity to ride behind as many engines as possible.

The beer festival will be at Corfe Castle with a wide selection of beers and cider on sale. Events run on each of the three days from 9am to 6pm.

*SOAK up the unique gardens of Highwood at Charborough House near Wareham on Saturday in aid of the Nothe Fort in Weymouth.

You’ll be able to enjoy a superb collection of rhododendrons and azaleas in a woodland setting and even enjoy a beautiful woodland walk with many bluebells to spot. The garden is open from 2.30pm to 6pm. Entry is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.

*ON SUNDAY, how about a trip to Minterne Gardens to enjoy its Spring Fair?

Midway between Sherborne and Dorchester, these gardens have been featured on Gardener’s World.The Spring Fair takes place between 11am and 4.30pm.

*The Andrew Simpson Watersport Centre is holding an Open Day on Sunday at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy between 10am to 4pm. People can enjoy free sailing, kayaking and SUP tasters for ages five plus and activities for the whole family.

The day will run from 10am-4pm with a BBQ running from noon, plus our famous Cardboard Boat Race will kick off at 2pm – so it's time to get building! No pre-booking necessary, just bring some closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting wet and a change of clothes come along for an exciting day on the water!

*CAR lovers should get themselves to Lulworth Castle on Sunday for Lulworth Castle Motor Show and Family Fun Day. Entry is free between 12pm and 4pm.

Organised by the Dorset Blind Association , it promises to be a fantastic day out for all; with a 20 mile motor tour around the beautiful Dorset countryside, castle showground with vehicle display, stall holders, catering, kids area plus live entertainment.
