INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed Grammy-nominated vocalist Stacey Kent returns to Dorchester on Wednesday, May 23 for a performance at the Corn Exchange with her five-piece band.

This beautiful collection of songs from the new album, I Know I Dream, includes American Standards, Bossa Nova classics, Chansons, as well as original songs and reprises of some of Stacey's most loved repertoire - including numbers co-written by Nobel prizewinner Kazuo Ishiguro, whose songwriting partnership with Stacey has formed an essential plank of her repertoire.

With career sales approaching two million albums, Stacey’s 11th studio album, I Know I Dream, is a highlight not only for its breathtaking beauty but also for its assured expressiveness.

The album follows Tenderly (2015), an intimate collaboration with Brazilian music master, Robert Menescal. Stacey's previous albums include, the Brazilian-flavoured, The Changing Lights, (2013), Dreamer In Concert (2011), recorded live in Paris at La Cigale, her all-French, Raconte-moi (2010), and the Platinum-selling, Grammy nominated, Breakfast on the Morning Tram (2007).

Raised on the east coast of the US, Stacey travelled to Europe to further her studies. After receiving her degree from Sarah Lawrence College in NY, through a series of twists of fate, she found herself in London where she enrolled in a graduate music programme at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and where she met her future husband and musical partner, Jim Tomlinson.

Kent's musical journey began in her childhood with piano lessons. An unusually keen ear and true voice lead her to participate in school musical productions, and she could often be heard singing at impromptu musical events in the college's cafe.

However, nothing suggested the shift in career that has propelled her to international recognition. With a catalogue of 11 studio albums including the platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated 'Breakfast On The Morning Tram' (EMI/BLUE NOTE 2007) and an impressive list of collaborations, Stacey has graced the stages of more than 50 countries over the course of her career.

Stacey’s I Know I Dream tour will continue worldwide with sold-out concerts and festival appearances.
